PDFs and other files and documents can also be added to the Media Library, in the same manner as images and videos. Click the "Add" button, or drag-and-drop them directly onto the Media Library to upload them.

Unlike images and videos, non-media documents cannot be dropped directly onto the stage or into page elements. Instead, you can grab the link to a document that's currently in your Media Library, then apply that link to a page element.

First, select the element or text you want to link to your file. Then open the linking panel by doing one of the following:

  • Press command or control K

  • If selecting an element, click on the green gear icon that appears and select "Add Link"

  • If selecting a word, click on the link icon that appears in the text option popup

  • Go to Edit > Link

With the linking panel open, select Download File Link

Click inside the select a file field, choose the file you want to link to in the next screen, and click choose file.

Once that's done you'll see the link to the file appear, and an option to download the file immediately when clicked. If you unselect this then the file will open in a new window for users to view and download. You can also add an aria-label, or a link description, here as well.

If for whatever reason you can't link to a file in the "Add Link" dialog, you can always select the file in your media library and copy the link by clicking on the button on the right.

Then you can use that link as an External URL Link in the linking panel.

Other Hosting Options:

If you don't want to host your documents on TIME Sites, it's also an option to upload them directly to a location on your own server, or use a cloud storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox. Then, add a link to any element on your TIME Sites website and paste the file's URL as the link destination.
