There are several ways to copy and paste content โ€“ on the same page, across different pages, and across different websites. The following instructions are specifically for copying and pasting; please note we also have a similar method, duplication, which you can read about here: Duplicating Elements.

To copy and paste:

Just like with any other application, you can copy and paste by using key commands, or going to the upper left corner of your TIME Sites studio and clicking on Edit.

Note: When you try to copy elements from the TIME Sites studio for the first time, your browser will prompt you with a request to allow your content to be pasted. Click Allow. This will not happen again after you click Allow the first time. If you didn't click Allow the first time, check out this article on how to change Chrome's permissions.

Key Commands:

Copy

  1. Mac: Hold Command on the keyboard and then press the C on the keyboard.

  2. PC: Hold Control (Ctrl) on the keyboard and then press the C on the keyboard.

Paste

  1. Mac: Hold Command on the keyboard and then press the V on the keyboard.

  2. PC: Hold Control (Ctrl) on the keyboard and then press the V on the keyboard.

Copy and Paste by clicking on Edit:

Copy

  1. Click Edit

  2. Click Copy

Paste

  1. Click Edit

  2. Click Paste

Pasting will always go below the current selection, or the top of the page if nothing is selected.

You can paste that content onto another page, or another website entirely. Your pasted content will function the same way that Blocks do, meaning if you copy and paste content from Website A to Website B, that content will inherit the Global Styles of Website B (the destination website), if you need a refresher on how to define your Global Styles, please refer to Defining Global Styles.

Additionally, you can paste this content into a non-TIME Sites environment! If you need support on a certain part of your website, you can copy that content from your studio and paste it into the in-app chat for the TIME Sites support team to take a look at it. You can also share this code with other members of your team. Enjoy!
