When you open a website, one of the tabs that will open is the sitemap. This is a visual representation of all the pages in the site, and their relationship to each other.

Each thumbnail in the site map represents one of the pages in the site. The thumbnail is a complete preview of the entire page — you can select it and scroll within it to see all the content on that page.

The relative position of the pages in this view, and the grey lines that connect them, indicate the hierarchical relationship between pages. This hierarchy is also reflected in the URL for each page.

The text underneath each page displays the name of the page, and the Master Page it is currently using (if any.)

You can also view the sitemap as a list by clicking on the list view icon:

Double-click on a page to open it and begin editing that page with the Design Studio.

Scale the View

The slider at the top left of the site map allows you to scale the view in/out. This can be useful if you want to zoom out to see more of the pages in a large website, or zoom in to see a page in greater detail.

Search

If you have a lot of pages on your site, you can search for it by typing in a keyword in the search bar in the upper left and pressing return/enter on your keyboard. The results will display in list view.

Add a New Page

If you hover over a page, you'll see "Add" buttons appear at the sides, and below it. Click one of these buttons to add a new page.

The buttons at the side will create a new page at the same level of hierarchy. The button below will create a page that is a level below this page in the hierarchy.

Delete a Page

To delete a page from the site, select it and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard, choose "Delete" from the "Edit" menu, or press the "Delete" button at the top right of the site map:

You'll be asked to confirm the deletion. Once deleted, a page cannot be recovered.

Important! If you delete a page that has sub-pages below it in the site hierarchy, those pages will also be deleted!

Rename a page

To rename one of your pages, double-click on its name below the thumbnail, then type the new name:

You can also change the name in Page Settings (shown below).

Duplicate a Page

To duplicate a page, select the page(s) and click the "Duplicate" button at the top right of the site map:

This will automatically create a copy of the page at the same level of hierarchy in the site map.

Edit page settings

To edit the settings of a page in the Site Map, select the page and click on the "Edit Page" icon at the top right:

This will allow you to change any of the page settings, like page name, slug, description, social media image, and more!

Reorder Pages

If you want to move a page to a new location in the hierarchy, just grab it and drag it to the desired location. As you do so, you'll see an orange line indicate where the page will be moved to:

When you rearrange the pages, the URL structure of your site may also change. Pages that are higher up in the hierarchy will appear first in the URL (for example, "www.yoursite.com/page-one/page-two".)

Master Pages

At the left side of the site map, you'll see an area that lists your currently available Master Pages. These can be applied to any of the pages in the site by dragging them onto a thumbnail. To learn more about Master Pages, refer to this article.

Auxiliary pages

At the left side of the site map, under the Master Page section, you'll see a space for any auxiliary page you have on your site (like a custom password protect page).
